Torfaen Trad Music Weekend May 2006

We had a great weekend in May kicking off with an accoustic concert in the RAFA Club in Cwmbran on the Friday eve, with local talent One String Loose and Shoostring Appalachian Dancers followed by Gerry O'Connor & Alan Burke and then a session with several musicians. We had a family down from Aberystwyth and two mad women arrived after the concert had finished with nowhere to stay having decided to come down from Lancaster at the last minute!

Saturday saw people at the workshops with Gerry & Alan which were enjoyed by all, then off to the Queen's in Upper Cwmbran for some food and a laugh, then all up the narrow lane to the "mountain" for a session in The Lamb at Penyrheol where about 15 of us entertained the locals.

There were more workshops on Sunday morning for those that could get up! Thanks to Gerry & Alan for giving us an entertaining and enlightening weekend.
